Brown urges Government not to slam the door on GARL5.11.36pm GMT Wed 3rd Feb 2010 Liberal Democrats today voted for an amendment to the Budget that would require the Scottish Government to look at alternative ways of funding GARL. Commenting, Liberal Democrat MSP for Glasgow Robert Brown said: "The SNP's decision to cancel the Glasgow Airport Rail Link came as a bitter blow to Glasgow and the West of Scotland. "We have and will continue to campaign for the SNP Government to get around the table with stakeholders to try and find a different way of funding the Glasgow Airport Rail Link. "So far, Ministers have refused to engage and have also refused to publish key information about their case for cancelling GARL. "That is why we are voting for this amendment, which would place an obligation on the Scottish Government to consider looking at alternative ways of funding this project. "But regardless of the result of today's vote, we will continue to campaign for the Government not to slam the door on GARL."
