Budget must respond to real prospect of lost generation of young people

Commenting on the latest unemployment figures, Liberal Democrat Finance spokesperson Jeremy Purvis MSP said:

“Unemployment figures from the UK Government show that the number of young people out of work has officially never been higher.

“The Scottish Budget needs to respond to the very real prospect of a lost generation of young people being economically unproductive, just like we saw in the 1980s under Margaret Thatcher.”
